CHE University Ranking

Your opinion matters!

Every year, around half a million prospective students try to make a good choice from more than 20,000 study programmes at more than 300 universities. For more than 20 years, the non-profit Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE) in Gütersloh has been trying to help them with its CHE University Ranking. The most comprehensive university ranking for Germany updates the results for about 40 subjects every three years.
In the summer semester 2024, it will be the turn of the Master's degree programmes in Computer Science.

If you have any questions about the CHE student survey, please contact Dr. Nina Horstmann, phone: +49 5241-9761-64; e-mail: nina.horstmann@che.de

Info on the CHE Ranking

The basic idea behind the CHE university ranking is that different criteria are important for each prospective student when choosing a suitable university. Some people are drawn to a mass university with cutting-edge research, while others feel better off at a small university of applied sciences with many internships in the area. Only those who can choose from a wide range of information and compare according to their criteria can make a good choice - that is our philosophy. Furthermore, we believe that the quality of a study program cannot be judged by numbers, data and facts alone. Those who can authentically and fairly judge the quality of a study program are those who are currently studying it. That is why we are turning to you! We would like to ask you to honestly and fairly assess various aspects of your studies in the following questionnaire.

If your degree programme as well as your subject semester entitle you to participate in the current CHE student survey, you have been contacted by the QM department of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences via email. The link contained in the email and your personal access code will take you to the questionnaire, which is available in German and English.

Participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous. The password for accessing the online survey is randomly assigned and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. The raw data from the survey will not be released to your university. Since the e-mail was addressed and sent by your university's QM department, CHE does not have your address.

We are aware that you have already been asked for feedback several times in the course of your studies, for example from teaching evaluations. Nevertheless, we would like to ask you to take about 15 minutes of your time to complete the CHE Ranking survey. The data also help the universities in their analysis of strengths and weaknesses and are made available to them in an appropriately aggregated form.

The results of this year's survey for bachelor's degree programs will be published in spring in ZEIT Campus magazine and on the Internet at https://studiengaenge.zeit.de/ranking. (The results of previous years are also available here).
